In Scottish lore Gaythelus was the husband of Scota, daughter of the Phaoroah of Egypt . She and Gaythelus left Egypt carrying 'Jacob's Pillow ('The Lia Faile') to Spain and from there it went to Ireland and subsequently Scotland. This stone was used at all coronations of the kings of Scotland until it was stolen by Edward the 1st of England (see Braveheart movie). He placed it below his throne as a symbol of his authority over Scotland until 1996 when it was returned to the people of Scotland.
