The shaman Diu desperately needs me to help him overcome a terrible problem. The shaman is losing control of a very strong entity rampaging in the spirit world. It has gained great power and will soon begin to affect the physical world by possessing and destroying weak hearts and minds. I must help him contain it.

I must bang on the spirit drum in order to force the monster to materialize on the ice north of Fina's Retreat.
Beat the drum fast (in Great Divide)
The sound of the drum was like a heart beat in the creature, forcing it to become like one of the living. Now that it has a heart, I can cut it out. The creature is looming on the ice north of Fina's Retreat.
Kill the spirit monster and cut out its heart (in Great Divide)
I must speak to the othmir shaman Diu on the ice north of Fina's Retreat once more and present him with the heart of the monster that terrorized him.
