The Villagers' New Clothes - Quest

December 3, 2024 -- Census is back after a 3 day outage and characters are once again exporting. Please note if your EQ2 character used the new Petamorph Key Ring feature, it will FAIL to export to Census or EQ2U. Avoid using this feature until a fix is available!!

As a drastic measure, if you are willing to irrevocably destroy any petamorph wands you have stored in the Petamorph Key Ring, you can type /delete_keyring_item 0 1234567890 where 1234567890 is the ItemID of the stored petamorph.

The Villagers' New Clothes

With the arrival of so many new faces, Ping Ventur has been inspired to invent a new look for the Village of Shin. While he leans towards creating new clothes from cloth, he's intrigued by the possibilities of working with leather. My skills are, shall we say, tailor-made to help him with this decision.

Ping Ventur is unsure if he should continue outfitting the Village of Shin in cloth, as he's seen some of the leather clothing options on many of the outsiders. I'll bring him some hide and animal skin so he can practice creating leather.

I'll check near Mystic Waterfall for beaver dens. (in The Village of Shin)

Water snakes might have shed their skins in the farmer's fields. It'll be an easy job to collect them for Ping. (in The Village of Shin)

In addition to leather, Ping Ventur thought perhaps variations on cloth could be useful in providing different wardrobe options for the villagers.

I remember passing some flax plants near Sighing Willow Pond. I'll gather some flax for Ping to use in making cloth. (in The Village of Shin)

There was a cotton plant between the Far Seas buildings by the docks. I'll gather some of the bolls for Ping. (in The Village of Shin)

The Far Seas Trading Company has some bolts of fabric stacked up near the dock. They won't mind if I sample some -- much. (in The Village of Shin)

With these samples in hand, Ping Ventur will be able to practice on a smaller scale before deciding whether cloth or armor is the way to go.
