This thing has an... effect on anyone near it. Some of the Apprentices hear voices, some see things, some just go quiet and won't move. I found Gilread just standing in the corner writing "I smell roses..." on the wall over and over. We had to finally move it out of the main chambers and only check on it to make sure it's still there. It makes me shudder to think of it.
